Portrait is on good progress

Starting in Sept I'm taking a portrait drawing course. We work on the samelife model with same posture in every two classes, I enjoy it very much. Back to my old school years, portrait painting was my least favorite, I always tried to avoid this subject because it is very hard to draw a person with likeness. Today I take up the challenge again and surprisingly I can draw human faces much better than before. I think my eyes and my drawing skill coordinate well slowly. Although portrait is not what I plan to improve purposely but I really happy for myself. I'm excited to look forward to my every Tue evening.~

Week 1 & 2: The model has nice feature on her face, her lips has great character, too bad I was not warm up well in my first 2 classes...

Week 3: I found I'm able to do draw better in the overall proportion, it was a 3 hours drawing.eptable.

Week 4: I tried to use black Indian ink instead of charcoal this week, I love it. The model could not make to come to the class that night so one of the students in our class volunteer to be the model. She has nice pretty face, I forgot to tell her it helps me a lot because of her. : )

In the coming class next week, I'm think to try brown Indian ink and slowly I would like to add on watercolor....
