People always asked: When you make picture book, does picture or word come first? For me, there were many times my characters came first. If I like them, I will find a story for them!
Is there anyone having same weirdness like me? I am right handed. When I feel my drawings are too well control, I shifted to draw with my left hand. But my weird brain only makes me write mirrored text with my left hand, naturally without thinking. So I created this video to show you how strange it is! Stay till the end for my writing please!
Stay weird and you are loved!
One more try, it is actually quite fun~ If I live 50 years ago I would do window writing for retail stores. :D
I’m developing some new illustrations with gouache and colour pencils, and fall in love with these guys I made today!
This is the completed video of my ink drawing alphabets.
Draw well, think deep. This is what I am thinking as I am drawing this. Making a piece of good art is not just make it, my brain is working actively in deed.
I sketch with 4B pencil today, love the softness and the darkness. It is a nice break from my digital painting.
So happy I found my 8B pencil in my drawer, then I made a fun sketch when a bird was singing loud by the window this morning. :)
This is the day, the Christmas Day! YAY!!!
I recently created couple video with my art, here is the one I like to most so far! :)
Have you ever feel a call from your heart that you want to paint badly? Just like sometime we are craving for a piece of chocolate or an ice cream. I had the urge this morning, so this is what I made as taking a break from my ongoing book project. Now I feel better and will go back to work. Don't laugh at me, isn't it fun to be an artist?! :)
YAY! I just finished the 5 weeks Make Art That Sells (MATS) Part B. It was a very intensive online course, I went through so much ups and downs emotionally in order to learn and to finish every assignment each week. But it was also a very fruitful experience. I was very fortunate that all of my assignments were selected in Lilla's weekly review, so I can get some feedback from her specifically. She gave us "check box" for what to be considered a good design for a particular market. It helps a lot for me to keep on growing in the future.
I am sharing what I have done in the past 5 weeks. What you see is my final submissions, what you don't see such as tones of my mini sketches, hand written notes, my frustrations and excitements, lot of friendship and support from other fellow artists, and many exchanged information in our Facebook group! Every part of them does count to make my course more memorable and meaningful.
Week 1: Paper Products
Week 2: Children's Apparel Market
Week 3: Scrapbooking Products
Week 4: Editorial & Publishing
Week 5: Party Paper Products
I am so thrilled to participate in the Inktober 2014. There are many artists from all over the world to create one ink drawing a day in the month of October, then we share through Facebook or Instagram or Twitter etc. It is amazing to see so many different unique great arts, and it gives me opportunity to know more fellow artists through the event.
One drawing per day. I like to show you what I came up in the first 15 days, more will come by end of October! Or follow my social media to see the update.
