I sketch with 4B pencil today, love the softness and the darkness. It is a nice break from my digital painting.
So happy I found my 8B pencil in my drawer, then I made a fun sketch when a bird was singing loud by the window this morning. :)
Just a little story inspired by my two little cats Sasha and Max.
It is very sad that Sasha left me today, I miss him badly. It was a very painful and difficult decision to let him go, but he has no more suffering. I believe he is enjoying his life in heaven. He gave me lot of great memories which will continue to inspire me to draw.
My husband and I have owned two lovely Tonkinese cats, their names are Max and Sasha. They are two brothers from the same litter. Unfortunately they both have diagnosed lymphoma cancer in last December. Their life expectancy is from few weeks to few months, I know I am going to loose both of them soon. I am spending some good quality time with them and make sure they live as healthy as possible. In the meanwhile, I started drawing them in stories to recap all the memory they have brought to my life. The one below was my first attempt, I am happy to continue to draw their fun silly things. It is very comforting when I draw them out, I hope you do enjoy reading it too~
I recently finished an editorial illustration “Take A Trip – A Pancake Festival” for Chirp Magazine on the January / February issue. It takes young readers travelling to the winter pancake festival in Russian. It was so FUN to finish this commissioned project!
I always want to make art for December count down but have never found time to do it in the past, This year I decided to reserve my time to make it comes true. I love to create art for the Christmas Advent Calendar, it keeps me busy in December but I have never run out ideas to draw for Christmas and Winter Festival. Stay tuned until the surprise on December 25th! You can also follow me on Instagram for the upcoming art.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays~ :)
I recently created couple video with my art, here is the one I like to most so far! :)
Just a quick flip of my art I did a while ago, enjoy~ :)
I just finished a commissioned window painting project collaborating with my artist friend Katalin Koos for a local Mahtay cafe in downtown St. Catharines, Canada. As an independent illustrator, I always work on projects alone all the time, it was a new but very fun experience to partner with someone to paint. We took some photos and videos for each other as we were painting, I like to share few with you here.
We are going to work on another window painting this Sat, stay tuned~ :)
I am so thrilled to participate in the Inktober 2014. There are many artists from all over the world to create one ink drawing a day in the month of October, then we share through Facebook or Instagram or Twitter etc. It is amazing to see so many different unique great arts, and it gives me opportunity to know more fellow artists through the event.
One drawing per day. I like to show you what I came up in the first 15 days, more will come by end of October! Or follow my social media to see the update.
I am back to paint after my trip to London and Paris. This is what I did today. I hope to share more about my trip and some photos I took during my journey. I am also working on the final art for a children's book for HarperCollins. It is a busy summer! Too many things and ideas, too little time. : )
I started with my personal collage painting this morning, it made me feel fresh and inspiring. Now I am getting back to work on my project! :-)
